Hi.
Currently I am facing the following permission denied error if the destination of the livecd is at the following place:
/media/disk-1/owner/Downloads/Testlarch/xmini
The error is as follows:
( 9/396) installing binutils [###########################################] 100%
/tmp/alpm_ba2wUu/.INSTALL: line 6: /dev/null: Permission denied
I have checked the permission of the xmini null node permission is correct and is as follows:
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 1, 3 2008-12-16 07:23 /dev/null
However if i don't specify the location of the livecd which by default will be ~/larchroot, no permission denied error will be produced.
What could be the root cause?
I am currently have space issue in my current partition and hence the livecd destination directory is specifed to another partition.

Strange. The only thing I can think of at the moment is that your partition is perhaps not correctly mounted? You need to mount with at least exec and dev options, I think (I believe that's in the docs somewhere).

Thanks. Finally it works. I was under the impression that krusader, my trusty file manager mount the partition with exec options.
Luckily i check /etc/mtab and it shows it doesn't.
Looks like i can't trust GUI application too much. :-)
