Missing modules at startup

Hi all,

I am in the process of installing Arch on my laptop (IBM X31).
I notice the following messages during the startup :

FATAL module ath_pci not found
FATAL module ath_hal not found
FATAL module wlan not found

I made some research and it appears that it will be a problem when I want to use wireless.

What can I do for these modules to found ?

Thx

Re: Missing modules at startup

Maybe part of madwifi or ath5k packages?

Re: Missing modules at startup

Yes probably but are those modules not suppose to be already there after a fresh install ?

Re: Missing modules at startup

ath_hal and wlan are part of the madwifi package. Madwifi is not present on a default install.

Check out this wiki entry, it should get you headed in the right direction.

Re: Missing modules at startup

Ok, I banged those 3 modules in /etc/rc.conf. So I will use the ath5k module instead.

Then I tried to setup a wireless connection but I am facing a problem.
I can scan and find my router.
I use

iwconfig wlan0 essid "myessid" key 1234567890

Then

dhcpcd wlan0

Which gives me the following error messages

err, wlan0 : timed out
err, wlan0 : using IPV4LL address 169.xxx.xxx.xxx

What can I try ?
