Okay, so today I added rTorrent to my OpenBox menu and when I tried to launch it for some reason or another, it caused X to freeze so I held the power button for a few seconds untill my box turned off. Turned it back on and it's doing its usual filesystem checks because they weren't cleanly unmounted but for some reason my sda4 (/home) partition keeps failing the check. I have no clue on how to repair it from the recovery console thing and I was wondering if anyone knows how, or do I just have to mkfs it and rebuild? Thanks a lot.

Are you using JFS by any chance?
The same thing happened to me when using GPodder, and screwed up my $HOME and /var.
Everything's fine on Ext3.

What file system do you have on it? (ext3/reiserfs/xfs/jfs/etc)

He could be using an SSD and trying to reduce number of writes...
