After upgrading to xf86-input-evdev-2.1 every keystroke in xorg / gdm became tripled. Pressing "t" resulted in "ttt".
Downgrade to 2.0.7 helped.
Any other people with the same problem ?
P.S.: Commenting out Option "AllowEmptyInput" "off" in xorg.conf solved the keyboard issue - but now the touchpad stopped working *argh*
P.P.S.: Okay...xf86-input-synaptics was not installed. All's fine now ![]()

There is one thing even more vital to science than intelligent methods; and that is, the sincere desire to find out the truth, whatever it may be.

I had the same problem but to solve it I had to put Option "AllowEmptyInput" "on" instead of "off"

Same happened here but double input instead of triple. I have to put the Option "AllowEmptyInput" "false" in or X will lock up the system.
Is there any other way to fix this? I'll try commenting out that line to see if X happens to work now for some reason.

Same thing happened to me and got the tip to remove keyboard settings from xorg.conf and "Option "AllowEmptyInput" "false"".
Which works well as I had already added the settings to hal (/etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi)
