If a "database" is just a tar.gz'd collection of files, is there any difference in overhead between the following?
a) repo-adding a single package to a database (updating an existing package)
b) removing the database and rebuilding it by repo-adding all the packages
Would b involve less overhead because it doesn't need to unpack the database first?
I know that any difference doesn't matter much for what I'm doing. I'm mostly just curious but I do have scaling in mind.
