USB icon stays on desktop after safe remove

In kdemod3, after safely removing the usb drive, the icon stays on desktop and in media:/. instead of removing it, the icon is still there after i plug out the drive, also hal detects removable media really slow....
Anyone got any clues?

I use Xfce4, and my Flash-drive does the same exact thing. What kind do you got, mine is Kingmax and is the only one I have seen do it.

I have seen this on many sandisk USB drives and on WesternDigital's Passport essential.
