Problems with ethernet & wlan on eeePC 901

Hi, I've just installed arch on a eeepc 901 but I'm having trouble figuring out how to get both my ethernet and wlan to work. I've followed the instructions for installing arch on the eeepc (also the one specific for 901), so I chose the atl2 package in the installation. Also, in the 901 wiki it said that ethernet should work 'right out of the box'.

Now then, I've got ethernet and wireless ENABLED in the BIOS, I've set the hostname to be the same in both rc.conf and hosts, and set eth0="dhcp" but ethernet does not work. The output of ifconfig -a is:

lo Link encap:Local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)

I'm as clueless with respect to wireless. According to the wiki hwdetect --show-net should show my wireless device, however the only output of it is:

NET : bluetooth

I've tried to follow all troubleshooting I could find, but it seems the devices can't be found at all, which means I have no idea of how to continue from here on. Any help on how to get this working, or what I've forgotten or screwed up, would be appreciated (and it seems as if it could be fixed as others have gotten both ethernet and wireless on their eeepc's)

I have the same problem, I think we need the atl1e driver from AUR...

Re: Problems with ethernet & wlan on eeePC 901

Hi, sorry for leaving this post just lying around dead, but I solved my problem by installing the zen-eee901 kernel, as described in the 901 wiki http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Asu … he_EEE_901. Don't know why it says in the wiki that the drivers should be there, but at least it works now. Hope this helps!
