Azureus not getting connection

Been using azureus for many years, and it's my preferred client.  However I recently rebuilt my desktop, using the latest live-cd installer.   However now Azureus gets connection to the tracker, but never actually connects to peers and downloads.  It's not my connection as rTorrent and uTorrent both get a connection and download, as does the desktop when booted to windows, it appears to just be an azureus thing.  Any ideas?

I've done the usual and checked the configuration of the router and the client, but can't think of anything more
