Kernel26 upgrage problem.
upgrading to kernel26-2.6.27.10-1 it installs but freezes at ":: Parsing hook [autodetect]" when generating the initramfs. This is the first time that's happened. any suggestions?

did you edit your /etc/mkinitcpio.conf file?
check if your hooks are ok? or there is no typo. thats my first guess.

I don't see anything obvious. it hasn't changed since the original install and worked on the last kernel upgrade.
