padlock crytop what? [solved]

I recently installed ssmtp, found it didn't do what I wanted it to do and forgot about it. Now hoever, it seems that as result of this a root cron job has fianlly fgound an outlet and is now able to mail me daily reports of system info. The first part always read:

 --------------------- ModProbe Begin ------------------------

 Errors inserting modules:
    padlock_aes (/lib/modules/2.6.27-ARCH/kernel/drivers/crypto/padlock-aes.ko) :
       No such device : 5 Time(s)

 ---------------------- ModProbe End -------------------------

which I find rather strange as my rc.conf listing of modules makes no reference to anything like thispadlock thingy and autoloading is disabled. here's the modules

MOD_AUTOLOAD="no"
MODULES=(evdev psmouse loop fuse ath5k fsaa1655g radeon drm usbcore usb_storage ehci_hcd ohci_hcd pci_hotplug sr_mod usblp ac97_bus snd ac97_bus snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm-oss snd-page-alloc snd-pcm snd-timer snd snd-ac97-codec snd-atiixp-modem snd-atiixp soundcore gspca_main gspca_zc3xx snd-usb-audio)

Can anybody tell me what's going on?

Re: padlock crytop what? [solved]

it's harmless.  the boot process tries to modprobe *-aes, which includes padlock-aes.  but since you (presumably) don't have a via chipset with the padlock hardware, it fails and errors.  no biggie.

(and here's a gentle reminder to search the fine forums :b )

Re: padlock crytop what? [solved]

if that does the trick, mark this solved.  no worries, we all get lazy sometimes!
