Hello!
This Christmas I offer a more "modern" netcfg2!
Now, there's a basic wireless via dbus/wpa_supplicant which promises to be much more reliable, a cleaner implementation, less need for hacks, and a tad quicker.
Also, there's a new version of the ethernet connection scripts which uses iproute instead of the dated ifconfig. The new scripts again offer a cleaner implementation, smaller code and more flexibility.
The new methods are much better than the old ones (which will still be available), though they use slightly different config options.
They've both been pushed to git at http://projects.archlinux.org. I'll release tarballs, example configs and an updated PKGBUILD later today/tomorrow.
Cheers! Have a happy and safe Christmas!
James

I would like to test this.
But would like to know certain thing.
Would it break the stable netcfg? How easy to revert to the stable netcfg?

Is there any advantage of using this besides if I use many different WiFi networks?
I'll try this some day...

I also would like to know, whether this can be used instead of NetworkManager on a laptop.

And will it be as handy in roaming mode? How about some tray applets (apart from ArchAssistant)
