I have this message while booting into a 2.4.27 kernel (wombat)
which: no pcimodules in (/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin)

1) why are you booting a 2.4 kernel?
2) the messages are from hotplug, and the map files are probably setup for 2.6 kernels... if so, maybe submit a bug report
3) pcimodules should come along with modprobe and things like that - again probably due to a kernel diff - your hotplug is for 2.6 and your mod_init_toosl (or whatever) is for 2.4

oh thanks Phrakture ! I understand better now...
I use a 2.4 kernel because I had problem of stabilities with 2.8.1. My computer freezed wherever he want... So I went back to 2.4
I'm going to ignore those boot messages then...
Thank you !

You're referring to kernel 2.6.8.1 - right? A lot of people had problems with that kernel, but you shouldn't have to go all the way back to 2.4. Why not try 2.6.7? It works very well for me.
