Hey guys
I'm not sure if this is the right place. I don't see any place where we can discuss licensing issues.
As I understand it, DJB publishes all his code either as public domain or sans licensing.
I see that as per http://www.archlinux.org/news/287/ , it is no longer officially supported due to the licensing being "burdensome".
Is the non-licensing burdensome? Or is there something I'm missing here?
pacman russian roulette: yes | pacman -Rcs $(pacman -Q | LANG=C sort -R | head -n $((RANDOM % 10)))
(yes, I know its broken)

That message was posted 2 years ago, when DJB had all his software licensed with a distribution-unfriendly license. DJB has released most of his software in the public domain a while ago.

So is it in AUR instead of [community] because it isn't popular enough? Seems odd that it might have been in a repo before but hasn't been put back if the licensing has changed.
Anyway, I suppose its frivolous at this point - unless there's some heated debate I haven't seen about init systems. ![]()
Thank you

Things get bumped up from AUR under certain circumstances. If it gets enough votes, and/or a developer or trusted user wants in the repos, it will be added.
