[SOLVED] all text in openoffice appears as boxes

Hi,

I'm new to arch, please forgive my inexperience smile

I just installed openoffice 3, and every text character is simply rendered as a box. Upon clicking on the font menu, there's only one listed, and it's all boxes too. I'm presuming that there's simply a whole bunch of fonts or something that i'm missing but don't know how to put them in exactly.

If anyone has any ideas your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! big_smile

Re: [SOLVED] all text in openoffice appears as boxes

oh, wait, I just installed artwiz-fonts, ttf-ms-fonts and ttf-dejavu (borrowed from the help files from another post) and that fixed it up just fine. Still, If anyone knows exactly what the solution was/why the problem occurred and is willing to explain I'm always keen to learn!

And/or should the openoffice package depend upon the relevant font package?

Thanks anyway! big_smile

Thanks for this man! I had no idea what was causing the boxes to appear in my install and this was the first post to come up in the search.
