Hi, I have an "acer extensa 5620G" laptop. Some days ago I upgraded my arch to xorg 7.4 and my middle buttom of the mouse doesn't work. Also, if I use two fingers it scroll... I searched a lot for any solution, I edited my xorg a lot of times but nothing did the trick. I found that but it doesn't work. I'm desesperate...  Please help me.
This is my /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Re: [solved] Middle buttom and scroll doesn't work (laptop and xorg 7.4)

well for the hot plugging to work in your system u must comment out the section

Section "ServerFlags"
    Option        "AllowMouseOpenFail" "true"
        Option      "AutoAddDevices" "false"
EndSection

cause with this section it will look to your xorg for your touchpad u have to transfer the setting from that link u have and put it in your xorg

any reason why u disable hot plug just curious. i know there are some issues.

like i say if u want to disable hot plug ok but make sure u take those setting and put it in your xorg from the link

Re: [solved] Middle buttom and scroll doesn't work (laptop and xorg 7.4)

delete or move your xorg.conf.
Implement 11-x11-synaptics.fdi and download xf86-input-synaptics as in
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … otplugging

I dont want to unable it, because it doesn't fix the problem and my keyboard becomes crazy... My touchpad works properly, but  its middle buttom doesn't work. I will test it in ubuntu jaunty.

Re: [solved] Middle buttom and scroll doesn't work (laptop and xorg 7.4)

If you don't want to enable input hotplugging, you can try creating a xorg.conf using hwd -x.

BTW, for your keyboard issue with hotplugging, have you try creating /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi
with <merge key="input.xkb.layout" type="string">us</merge> set to es(based on your xorg.conf) above?

If you don't want to enable input hotplugging, you can try creating a xorg.conf using hwd -x.

BTW, for your keyboard issue with hotplugging, have you try creating /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi
with <merge key="input.xkb.layout" type="string">us</merge> set to es(based on your xorg.conf) above?

Yeah, I did it. I will try to use ubuntu jaunty (only for try it).

Re: [solved] Middle buttom and scroll doesn't work (laptop and xorg 7.4)

Today I tried jaunty, and my touchpad worked properly, also the middle buttom. I saw its xorg and I didn't see nothing related to the input devices, so I deleted it from my xorg and I did a reboot. After that, I have the same problem. Please help me!

Re: [solved] Middle buttom and scroll doesn't work (laptop and xorg 7.4)

Try to add this to solve the middle button problem (into the synaptics options):

    Option "TapButton1" "1"
    Option "TapButton2" "2"
    Option "TapButton3" "3"

To solve the scroll problem try to set the Edge (I read that synaptics w/o hotplug dont detect it correctly), to do this run

synclient -m 1

And tap on top-left and bottom-right to get the Left, Right, Top and Bottom edges and set this on synaptics options

Option "LeftEdge" "Number you get for left"

and the same for Right, Top and Bottom.
