[solved] Completely borked system.

Right, I wanted to use reiser4 and ext4 on my system. I compled zensources with support built in, made sure it worked and went about backing up /home, /lib/, /bin, /sbin, /var. Notice anything missing? missing /usr, I think wiped my disks and tried to recover, without /usr.

I have /boot on its own parition with the layout table like this

/sda1 windows

sda5 /boot
sda6 /
sda7 /var
sda8 /home
sda9 swap

I also moved sda5, which was in the middle of the disk so i moved it to the start of empty space after /sda1. I thought I could keep my grub config unchanged and just reinstall the system using the arch installer, not so well. For some reason in grub now root is (hd0,4) instead of (hd0,5) previously, I also cannot get the kinit to run as it cant mount root, which it says is /dev/sda(6,8) which doesnt sound right.

Any help would be very much appreciated ive spent the past 6 hours on this without avail.

Its not that simple as, / ext3 (upgrading to ext4 later), /var and /home are reiser4 so can only use them with the zen-sources.
