Problems with printing on a Samsung CLP-300

Hello,
I have a Samsung CLP-300 printer, installed the Samsung printer driver and tested the whole thing, but everytime I print something, the printer crumples up the paper and jams, which it does not under Windows. What could be the reason for that and how can I fix it?

Have you tried printing in windows lately? Maybe something mechanically went wrong with the printer since the last time you printed in windows. I have a really hard time believing your problem is software related.

So do I, but I've tried it several times in Windows and Linux and it still works under Windows and it does not in Linux. I'll try it again when I come home, but it is a strange coincidence.

What drivers did you use or are you using? (IE. The cd ones or the internet ones?)
I have a CLP-315 without any problems.

You can use the open source foo2zjs driver for the CLP-300. I've got the all-in-one version (CLX-3160FN, IIRC) and it work nicely. Not as fast as using Samsung drivers on Windows, but it does work and is fast enough for me. It is also easier to install since a PKGBUILD is in AUR.

I'm using Samsung's Unified Linux Driver which I downloaded from their website.

Re: Problems with printing on a Samsung CLP-300

Alright, it really was a coincidence. However, the printer is using up way too much toner, the text is all blurry. I've already lowered the quality to draft, but it's not enough.
This printer is known to use a lot of toner, but not that much. I had to adjust some settings under Windows, too, to reduce the consumption, but it wasn't so bad that the writing was blurry. And I can only adjust the quality in Linux, I didn't find any other options to play with.
