xorg-server-git

hi,

i wanna try a recent version of xorg-server.
the reasons are: the current xserver has a bad exa performance [1]
and also the option migrationheuristic [2] has a bug with kde 4.1/2b.

i am using a radeon mobility 7500, i think r200 based.

so i tried xorg-server-git but this package couldn't be compiled.
there are some problems with it, for example the patches doesn't
work and it needs a newer randrproto as in the repo is.

best wishes

Re: xorg-server-git

Hi!

You might wanna take a look at this thread:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=61650

Just to inform you that I've successfuly compiled and install latest xorg-server along with its dependancies, but it doesn't work: X reports some ABI versions don't match. I suppose we also need newer kernel modul (I'm running 2.6.28 kernel).

Re: xorg-server-git

thanks a lot, that was especially what i have searched.

i'll paste ati-dri-git, xf86-video-ati-git and xf86-input-synaptics-git in that thread, because i' have needed it additionally.

best wishes
