Network card problem

Hello everyone I'm a ubuntu noob thats trying out arch for the first time, and I'm having a problem with my network card. Every time I reboot the computer I have to move the network card to a different pci slot for it to work. It's a 3com 3c905 rev b. I have no clue why it does this anyone know?

Re: Network card problem

Does the same happen if you unplug then plug back in the power after shutting down, before restarting?

The reason I ask every once in a while one of my machines stops recognising the onboard nic, and the only way to get it working again, is to unplug AC power and let the capacitors drain before plugging it back in.

I have one of these cards, and it never gave any trouble like you describe.

Re: Network card problem

I don't know wasn't paying attention to that. I'm downloading something on it right now so I'll try that out when it's done.
