[SOLVED] request module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-0000

I "resolved" this by rolling back the kernel. It's not an elegant solution but it works while I figure out what's *actually* the problem.

Hi -

I have installed the plain old vanilla i686 version of archlinux. Everything worked on initial boot (yay!) and the system was completely useable.

I then upgraded (pacman -Syu) and installed a couple of other packages (ssh, rsync, rtorrent). All still w/ i686 packages.

The next time I booted up I got the following error:

request module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-0000
request module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-0000
request module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-0000
request module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-0000
request module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-0000
input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard as /class/input/input

This is a plain vanilla install, no weird hardware, no busted hardware, bios settings on failsafe.

Any ideas why this might be happening? Everything's been done by the book so to speak...
