I am trying to view some movies over samba comming from vista. i am able to access the files fine, can download and watch them but when i try to open them from samba (without downloading) with totem i get this error
Totem could not play 'smb://vista/movies/2001%20-%20A%20Space%20Odyssey%20(1968).avi'.
There is no input plugin to handle the location of this movie
i have gstreamer good bad and ugly installed (ffmpeg totem-plugins and tried totem-xine)
i use to have it working fine in ubuntu before i switched, i just cant figure out what im missing.

Try to mount share and then you should be able to play video with any player you have.
