Hi,
I currently have LVM setup on my archlinux machine. Root "/" is setup as a logical volume. I followed the instructions on the lvm wiki page on increasing the size of a logical volume. I added +50G to the logical volume mounted at root while it was still mounted. After that, I ran resize2fs. Everything seemed to work just fine.
Later on the power went out at my apt and when the power came back I turned on my machine to see that it was stuck at "Checking Filesystems" for a while, saying "[BUSY]". When it finally got done, it failed with "Filesystem Check Failed". I'm not sure if this is related to what I did with my logical volumes or not, but it's the biggest filesystem related change I made before the reboot. Any idea how I can fix this?
Thanks.

If have had that after power outlets too, booting from another partition or a live disc and running an fsck manually has always fixed it for me.

well I'm running fsck right now from the prompt that occurs after the filesystem check failed message. I'm running "fcsk /". I keep getting prompts saying "Error reading block ####". It then asked me if I want to ignore the error. If I say "Yes", it then asks me if I want to force a rewrite. I really have no idea how to use this thing.
Isn't there some automatic way to fix the problems in the filesystem? Can't I just run fsck in hands-free mode safely?

Try fsck -y (see the manpage for details).

Could I get step-by-step instructions on what to do in LiveCD in order to be able to run fsck on my LVM partition? This partition is at /dev/sda2 I think. When I run LiveCD it's not mounted and I can't remember how to display all detected partitions regardless of if they are mounted. fdisk -l doesn't accomplish this.
I appreciate everyone's help so far.
