I have a TRENDnet KVM switch model tk-409k. It's a 4 port VGA/USB KVM for monitor/mouse. Normally, if I press numlock key twice it switches from one computer to another. It works fine under Windows XP/Vista, Linux Ubuntu 7.10, 8.04, and 8.10. Arch is the first time I've ever had any problems with it at all. When I first installed Arch, it would not load the keyboard/mouse. An update fixed that issue, but I still cannot get it to auto switch to another computer by pressing numlock twice.
Mostly when I search for KVM I get virtualization posts, and nothing about keyboard/monitor switches. I've seen another thread with the issue about the mouse/keyboard not working that was magically resolved (probably updated like I did), but nothing about the units not switch screens.
Maybe there is a library I don't have installed or a daemon I don't have running that I did on ubuntu. Could it be a difference between fam and gamin? Or perhaps something else entirely?
I'm currently using LXDE/Openbox as my DE/WM. I currently have gamin installed and my daemons in rc.conf are:
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng crond dbus hal network netfs wicd alsa)

Well, I'm not entirely certain what is causing this - or if it is a problem anymore. I tried to manually switch my KVM and noticed it stopped switching altogether! Anything on port 1 works perfectly. Anything on any other port will not get displayed at all. =/ KVM seems to have blown up. I also had a new dell studio XPS 121m explode (fans go full blast but no post, tested on 3 monitors and nothing), so I'm thinking the vid card on the new comp blew up and possibly took the KVM with it. =/ On the bright side, the comp was 2 days old and we got a brand new one that has been working fine since then.
Anyone know how to fix a "stuck" KVM? I tried disconnecting all plugs for an hour or so to see if that reset it, but that didn't work.
