.desktop files slow in nautilus

Hi guys,
I have a folder on a partiton called /store (like opt, but with a lot of things that could be in /home like videos, document, music)
There is a subfolder which contains 96 (number is growing) .desktop files. When I open the folder the system slows down for about 6-7 sec.
Is there any way to speed it up the loading of them ?

File Browser - Nautilus
Filesystem - Ext3
Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz

EDIT: BUT THIS ONLY HAPPENS SOMETIMES. I think nautilus have to cache them or something like this.
