Start partitioning tool after GRUB

Maybe the idea exists, but didn't found anything anywhere about it.
Here I go.

The idea is that you load a partitioning tool right after GRUB, with init=/sbin/parted or something as a kernel argument.
Is this possible? Or beter, did anyone done that before?

It saves me from burning a Live CD and such. I know it isn't that much an effort, but it seems more productive to do it like above.

Re: Start partitioning tool after GRUB

Why do you need to load parted just after GRUB? I don't understand.

P.S. Civ maniac??? Welcome to the club! ;-P

Re: Start partitioning tool after GRUB

Maybe I'm not clear about this.
What I mean is to have the possibility to boot your system/kernel into a certain shell so you can (re)partition your hard drive(s).
Maybe there is someone out there that has done it before or does know how.

PS: "No Civilization = Freedom" gives people a choice. If they want freedom, they have to drop the civilization. But that's another discussion.
