[SOLVED] xserver running fine as root, instant shutdown as user

The subject explains it:
if i startx as root, everything works fine but if i do it as normal user X shuts down instantly without any errors and no real differences between Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old.

I am sure its not related to the video driver since its the same with vesa, radeon and fglrx..
My xorg.conf is nothing special, the automaticly created one that works fine so far.

So now i dont know what the problem could possibly be.. anyone with a suggestion where to take a closer look on?

Make sure you run some window manager in ~/.xinitrc, otherwise X exits because it has nothing to do.
