Hi,
I am new to Archlinux, I moved from Ubuntu with Gnome couple of days ago. I set up my arch pretty successfully - I have an XFCE running, with all the software I had on Ubuntu (made me love pacman). I think my problem has an easy solving, but I didnt manage it myself so I am asking.
I put Arch on my sda (had it autoprepare) and I left sdb with no change (only photos and vids storage). But I cant just access (see) the sdb disk.
when I run fdsik -l I get
Disk /dev/sda: 40.0 GB, 40020664320 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 4865 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x0f610f60
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 5 40162 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 6 136 1052257+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sda3 137 1666 12289725 83 Linux
/dev/sda4 1667 4865 25695967+ 83 Linux
Disk /dev/sdb: 40.0 GB, 40020664320 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 4865 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x0fae0fad
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdb1 1 4865 39078081 7 HPFS/NTFS
How can I make sdb visible in XFCE? Thanks for your help. Joenas

Hi, welcome to Arch!
You have NTFS disc, so you need to install ntfs-3g package and add line
/dev/sdb1 /mnt/data ntfs-3g defaults 0 0
# just example
to /etc/fstab. For further HOWTO see http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NTFS_Write_Support

I followed the wiki page, ended installing ntfs-config...ran it and it showed that sdb1 was successfully mounted, but I have no clue where to look for it in File Manager. ntfs-config says it is supposed to be in /mnt/data, but my /mnt folder is empty...?

all I had to do, was to create the damn /mnt/data folder. Now the disk mounts there automatically. Everythings fine. You can add the [SOLVED] tag here...
