how to send and recieve sms on my laptop? via bluetooth

hey guys on ubuntu i had an app (forgot name) similar to xggnokki that allowed me to send a recieve sms texts messages from a little tray applet. i have looked in aur and found a few. phonetooth would be brilliant if it let me read a new recieved sms via the laptop but it doesnt. so i need help

I think you're about this lib - http://www.gnokii.org
They have few frontends listed there too, one of them is called gnocky which is available through AUR

got it thanks. now if only this app was able to copy my adress book from my sim like phonetooth does. instead it needs evolution (60 meg!) just so i can put 10 or so contacts in the adress book

i used gnocky to do that. is a front end to gnokii. is quite simple to use. you need to config /etc/gnokiirc. tell to use bluetooth, rfcom_channel.
