Hi I installed Gnomad2 with "yaourt -S gnomad2" and everything went fine...but now? how can i start this program?
If i write gnomad2 on the konsole it says that it does not exist? I forgot to do something?
Thank you?
p.s. is there some easy way to make my linux pc see my creative zen?
Thank you

i'm also a newbie
But i have a system with OpenSuse 10.3 and there gnomad2 is the command to start.
Are you shure you installed Gnomad2 ? Search for a /usr/bin/gnomad2
Note: seems Creative Zen does not work like an usual USB-memory-stick. For some odd reason they have used a different protocol to communicate with the computer. On "that other" operating system it works with a program that always installed but on Linux you really need gnomad2.
BUT i must say: Gnomad2 just works, even though it reports some error now and than, specially when you try to copy files the other way: from Zen to you computer.
When Gnomad2 starts: it try to find your Zen and if not detected than gives an error message.

Edited version:
How old is your Zen? If it's less than 3 ish years old, it might support MTP, in which case you could use most music managers instead of gnomad if you are struggling.
If it supports MTP, you can still use gnomad but you can also use any music player with MTP support, such as Rhythmbox, Banshee, Amarok, Exaile etc to transfer music
To check for MTP, with it plugged in and libmtp installed (and user in the camera group) run mtp-detect and see if it gets anything.
-- Drastic All else fails solution if your player doesn't have MTP and gnomad still refuses to work:
Unless your zen is REALLY old (as in over 5 years), you can probably upgrade the firmware to one which supports MTP. I did it on my old Creative Zen Xtra. The program for the upgrade is windows only, but it doesnt take long so I'm sure you could use someones windows computer for a bit if needed. (One warning - you will lose everything on it. If you need to get it off first, you'll need to use gnomad)

Does
pacman -Qs gnomad2
return anything?
If it does what does
pacman -Ql gnomad2
show?
@henkidefix Did you even read his problem? He can't get gnomad2 started, his path should have /usr/bin and your bullshit about

Windows has libmtp support out of the box (well I think its part of media center). Gnomad2 is not the only choice. Most creatives use a protocol called libmtp, so any program that supports libmtp will work (Amarok, mtpfs, gnomad2, etc...)
@alex_anthony EDIT: you fixed your post so everything is good
libnjb and libmtp-devel should have gotten pulled in when ilcontegis ran yaourt -S gnomad2, but regardless he/she can't start gnomad2, so the mtp talk is bullshit right now. Lets follow a little bit of logic here!

I'm just going to say that I have a Creative Zen MicroPhoto that uses MTP and works with Amarok and gnomad2 just fine.

How the hell does this help the OP??? It doesn't!!! Don't post pointless crap!

It does help him because he doesn't necessarily NEED gnomad2.
He did p.s. is there some easy way to make my linux pc see my creative zen
I was just offering such an alternative
OP: If you do want to keep going with gnomad2, pyther's advice is the best. pacman -Qs and pacman -Ql. also, the output of echo $PATH could be useful.
What model of Zen is it?
p.s. when I tried gnomad2 recently, I couldn't get the latest version to work. I had to use 2.9.1.

I suppose however suggesting he/she updates his/her firmware seems to be a really drastic option considering that his originally problem was that gnomad2 isn't found on the system. Also IIRC libnjb will support those older creatives players that don't have libmtp support.
What was your error when you tried to get gnomad2 installed? I didn't run into any problems myself.
@OP If you have a Creative Zen (as the topic states (a piss poor product name considering there is a Creative Zen Vision, etc...)) it has libmtp support.
Edit: fixed typo

OK, I'll acknowledge that it is drastic and I'll edit my post to that effect.
