I had bad performace with kernel 2.6.27, fps was cca 2-3. Then I updated kernel to 2.6.27-7 or 8 and it got back to normal, fps about 40-50.
And with recent update to 2.6.28 -3 fps starts at 15 and in few seconds drops to 2-3. That makes web cam useless.
Is this related to kernel itself or with some outdated library?
