When I run my printing configuration tool I get an error message saying that can't connect to configuration server. I have a network attached printer and when I run the setup and try to print a test page the prnter status says printing but it just hangs and in the bottom of the properties box it says Ready: /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip-hplip failed. Need help figurung this out. Thanks.

is your user in the "lp" group?

Sorry to be more specific here is the error message I get. Yes my user is part of the lp group. Sorry should have posted this yesterday. I can ping the printer so TCP/IP is working. Maybe its the way my daemons are configured.
Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash. See http://www.gnome.org/projects/gconf/ for information. (Details - 1: Failed to get connection to session: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.)
