java fonts too big

The fonts on my system look great.

I upgraded java, and under certain java apps, my fonts look terrible.  They are pixelated and at times too large.

I needed the most recent java, as some java based apps refuse to run with the earlier version (1.5).

Fiddling with control center does nothing for java, as I suspected.

Re: java fonts too big

I'm having the same problem in Mathematica.  I tried reinstalling jre to no avail.

Looks like there's a font.properties file you can search for on your system and edit.

Or, perhaps the problem is that certain apps are asking for fonts you don't have, and defaulting to another font? In which case font.properties may have the fix, or you may need a font package.
