I use xcompmgr+cairo-dock
cairo-dock takes around 4MB with just the menu applet,launchers and task list  so I thought "why not?"
And I use gdevilspe+devilspie just for convenience sake.

First of all .. Hello . This is my current Openbox desktop. Still learning and tweaking.

Obtheme  xfzen green (with color tweak)
GTK2 MurrinaCappuccino
Icons Dropline Neu!
vim color ir_black

Other stuff is Thunar, xterm, wbar, conky and stalonetray.

This is a background from the arch wallpapers package, gtk theme is called Arch-Dark from xfce-look.org, ob theme is Onyx-Arch, found elsewhere on this forum.

It's really easy to do. Get gcolor2 and look at the themes themerc.

WM theme: Color modified Orblack
GTK theme: Shiki-Wise
Icon theme: Clearlooks-OSX

I might be totally stupid, but I cant find that gtk theme "shiki-wise" available for download anywhere.  Could you help me out please?

Install shiki-colors, then it's one of the color choices.

Ah, another gedit fan! I've tried lots of other editors, but none of them are what I want. For most coding it's vim all the way, but for XHTML/CSS it's gedit.

It's openbox, tint2 and trayer, the images and transparent sidebars are part of the background.

Complete instruction are available on my blog.

Download the conky configuration files, fonts, scripts and GIMP layered background.

certainly; install the fortune-mod package--

sudo pacman -S fortune-mod

(btw, there's a bunch of other ones in the extras repo. i love the calvin and hobbes one personally)

then, in your .bashrc file in your home folder (if it doesn't exist, create it--it's hidden)
stick

# Fortune
echo;fortune;echo

into it. now whenever your terminal starts up, it should say a random fortune.

Ive been using arch for about 18 months, and absolutely love it! been using openbox for 3/4 months, when i moved from fluxbox, and before on kde!!

openbox, with a little bit of experimenting, is by far the best WM i have used so far!!!! )

gtk theme = MurrinaLoveGray
ob theme = Curdled
font = URW Chancery L
icon set = SimplyGrey
wallpaper = custom made using Gimp from various images

Running apps;
Parcellite, pcmanfm, VLC, Pidgin, Transmission, Swiftfox, Eterm, gftp, xcompmgr, tint2, stalonetray, Nitrogen
