Programs freeze. Transmission and Banshee.

Hi!

I recently installed Arch Linux with Gnome. I've used it before, but it's been a while. I'm having some serious problems with unstable apps. I often use Transmission and Banshee, and I have never experienced any problems doing so, but in Arch they freeze all the time - I have to "force quit" to close them! That never happened the last time i used Arch. I don't know if Transmission and Banshee are the only programs with this problem, but I'm worried that several other programs may have the same problem. I mean, I use pretty few programs on a regular basis, and when two of those programs have the same problem, why shouldn't others? So, what could be wrong? Do you experience any problems with Transmission and Banshee?

I don't use Banshee but transmission freezes from time to time for me since a while, but I don't have to quit forcefully, fortunately. It seems as if the hard disk is accessed continuously then. Other than that no freezes with other programs.
