segfault when start icecast2 daemon

Trying to get icecast working together with mpd. Mpd works fine; no sweat . However I don't get icecast properly fonctioning. Starting up seems ok :

sudo /etc/rc.d/icecast start                                           
:: Starting Icecast Server                                                           [BUSY] Starting icecast2                                                                           
Detaching from the console                                                                  
                                                                                     [DONE]

"done" would suggest the daemon started, however:

sudo /etc/rc.d/icecast stop
:: Stopping Icecast Server                                                           [FAIL]

and dmesg reports:

icecast[18132]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f06dfe6cf5a sp 00007fffe9fa8ff0 error 4 in libc-2.9.so[7f06dfe37000+14a000]

Any suggestions fellow archers??

Still no go for icecast. Followed the wiki (only did not create de "icecast" user as recommended). Nothing is recorded in /var/log/error.log nor in /var/log/access.log.

Would be nice to have a working icecast stream to "broaden" (not to say "manipulate"..) the musical horizon of family members.
