I get 'Modprobe FATAL: Failed to open config file modprobe.devfs' in my /var/log/messages using the 2.6test1 kernel.
I think a 2.4.* kernel would use a modules.devfs which is autogenerated by the devfs deamon. Is there any way I could instruct the deamon to generate a modprobe.devfs as well?
Everything seems to work fine btw so this is more out of curiosity and in an attempt to clean weird errors out of my log files.

2.6 does not support devfs...it has been changed to some other name/system.

what do you mean, doesn't support it?
It seems to work with it well enough.

I currently use 2.4.73 on one system, and till this kernel devfs is still inside. But I've not checked 2.6-test2 yet...
