[SOLVED] Problem installing obconf

Hi guys,

I've installed openbox, obmenu and obconf. During the pacman installation of obconf I get the following messages;

update desktop mime database...
/tmp/alpm_W0PLgr/.INSTALL: line 5: update-desktop-database: command not found
/tmp/alpm_W0PLgr/.INSTALL: line 6: update-mime-database: command not found
error: scriplet failed to execute correctly

Other than that, I can start up openbox and open the configuration manager just fine.

I've googled on the subject but found nothing and nothing in the forum and wiki.

Please could somebody help me resolve this? I know things seem to be working now but I have not tested all the functionality and so this might cause a problem going forward. Also, I like to sort out all the errors and warnings I come across.  smile

TIA

Re: [SOLVED] Problem installing obconf

I think the error message is pretty clear - you need to install a mime database related package (don't recall which one and I'm not on Linux for the moment).

That will pretty much fix it.

Re: [SOLVED] Problem installing obconf

Hi B,

Thanks for the quick reply and pointer.

After a bit more digging I find that the following packages need to be installed;

shared-mime-info
desktop-file-utils

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it!

cool
