Fbsplash - F2 switches to tty1 when inside of gnome.

Hello,

I'm having a minor annoyance. I'm running a kernel patched with fbcondecor and fbsplash so I could have a graphical boot and terminal background, but I've run into a small problem. If I hit f2 when inside of gnome, it will switch me to tty1 with the silent fbsplash screen up. I can then just switch right back, but it's a bit annoying since alt+f2 is the keyboard combination for run. Is there anyway to stop this behaviour?
