Wireless help

Hello!
I have installed windows drivers for the Siemens USB Adapter 54 with ndiswrapper. All ok.
Then I tried to connect to the wireless network.
# ifconfig wlan0 up
# iwconfig wlan0 essid NAME key s:MYWEPKEY

And here the error came:
' Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) '

What's the matter? Is this the right way to connect to the wlan?

And an other thing. I'd like to change my keyboard to croatian/serbian layout. What should I change ?
