[Solved]binding a key to a script that requires sudo

i have a script i'd like to bind to a key in xfce to suspend my laptop. but in the keyboard settings screen, typing sudo suspend doesn't do anything. sudo suspend in the terminal works fine. how do i make this work? i tried putting it into the sudoers file also but it didn't seem to have any effect.

nevermind, i got it. should've been using acpi all along
