Hi,
After you click on a desktop icon, an application typically appears right away on the panel and displays a bouncing icon. Unfortunately, 'typically' doesn't mean 'always'. Among notoriously 'silent' applications is Firefox . The trouble is compounded by sluggishness of the said Firefox... Is there a way to make it conform?

No ideas? The thing must be universally known...

If I remeber correctly it is some kind of a standard that Firefox doesn't give a startup feedback. So have a look in your menu-editor (right klick on the Kmenu icon and choose menu editor). Look up Firefox and have a look at the first checkbox. If it is empty, check it, then save and open Firefox.

"Enable launch feedback" checkbox? Thanks! But... what am I to do if it's a label on the desktop? There's no such box in the "Properties" ...

Yes, enable launch feedback that's it!
I suggest: First you enable the checkbox in menu-editor, and after that you drag the icon out of the start menu to the desktop. It should then have the right properties. Give it a try!

It works as suggested, thanks! Though there's still nothing in the "Properties" indicative of the launch feedback.
