Any way to load an older Xorg?

The first time I installed Arch Linux everything worked great -- but since Xorg 7.04 I can't install the X server without it locking up. Is there any way to install the older version of Xorg via Pacman?

I should also mention that I have had trouble with the newer version of Xorg in Debian -- so it's definitely an Xorg issue.

Find or build the required packages. For more details, go here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Downgrade_packages

Thanks. I'll see if I can work my way through it.

Re: Any way to load an older Xorg?

I would see if you can go through the X.Org people to find a better solution. Simply waiting and hoping a new X.Org will be released with a fix isn't a very good plan, and the more these types of things are tracked down and fixed, the better the Linux desktop will be. It should be possible to track down the commit that caused your problem, and from there it should be simple to find a solution or for the X.Org people to make a patch.
