Re: login managers?

You can set this for kdm from the control centre-> login manager -> Users panel.  Hide all of your users there and then go to the Convenience panel and make sure the preselected user is nobody.

Re: login managers?

if you are into really beautiful, but still kinda buggy stuff, I would recommend entrance (it's on rensel's repository)
otherwise, you could probably try Login.app (if you go to the www.gnustep.org page, there will be a link there to a repository with arch packages related with gnustep, can't remember right now the name of the maintainer, but he was doing a good job keeping it up to date)

both are really cool

Re: login managers?

I tried both entrance and xdm now! I like them both but I think I prefere xdm! but xdm refuses to start during bootup! I added it to the same place as kdm, but it didn't work! and when I run both xdm and entrance I can't login with them, I get to this window with some session controll choises and then the x-server goes down!? how to fix that?

Re: login managers?

dude, he's not a native english speaker, give him a break....

did you edit inittab and set the default runlevel to 5, and set runlevel 5 to run xdm --nodaemon (with respawn)?

Re: login managers?

edit runlevel? um, no... I only added it to the daemons to startup, like you would do with kdm and gdm! xdm doesn't work the same way? and I didn't quite understand what I should do, sorry! hehe

and a "gift" to whatah: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
