Installing Arch issues

Well, I'm having trouble, even without running the installer: My PC has installed MS Windows Vista and Ubuntu on dual boot; I want to replace Ubuntu with Arch, but the LiveCD won't load.
Currently I'm testing, on Windows Vista, running the CD with VirtualBox, it works properly, but acceding to it on the computer itself, it doesn't load, instead a GRUB command-line comes up, and I can't do anything more. Recently I was wondering if this happens becuase of the existing installation of GRUB on Ubuntu, I'm considering formatting it from Windows, or removing GRUB, but I would be more confortable witht the first, because if I did delete GRUB, I don't know what could happen when trying the dual-boot··· Any help?

My computer:
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz
8GB RAM Memory (I'm using the 64-bit installer)
1024GB; 2 HD 612 each
nVidia GeForce 9500GS 512MB

PS: Here's another thread where I asked for help too, but I thought this section was proper as I kinda was directing the thread's purpose to another.

I trust Microsoft about as far as I can comfortably spit a dead rat.
