Microphone problems after latest kernel update

I just updated to the latest kernel version this morning, and have immediately found some problems.  When I try to do voice chat on Skype, it does not pick up the microphone input at all.  Testing further, I found that the microphone input works just fine elsewhere.

Re: Microphone problems after latest kernel update

Okay, I tried enabling full duplex in kcontrol, but got an error when I tried to apply the change.  I'm guessing this is somehow related.

Re: Microphone problems after latest kernel update

Well, it seems that mic input isn't working at all.  I only get feedback out of my speakers when I tap or blow on the mic.

Re: Microphone problems after latest kernel update

Turn up the volume on igain and turn down the "mic" volume. You should now get mic input and no feedback.

Re: Microphone problems after latest kernel update

try enabling the 'capture' volume control in your volume preferences.  i noticed yesterday when trying to use skype that the microphone volume control no longer worked as it used to.  but using the capture volume control has things back as they should be.
note i'm using gnome as my desktop interface. smile
