Display terminal on desktop (kdemod4)

hello

It would be very handy if I could get a terminal sticked to my desktop. I've seen it on screenshots at the forum but not at kde, always alternative environments like openbox. Anyway I hope someone can suggest me something...

Re: Display terminal on desktop (kdemod4)

Try tilda:

pacman -S tilda # as root
tilda & # on kdemod startup (under sessions)

Or a borderless urxvt upon startup on all desktops

urxvtc / wmii / zsh / configs / onebluecat.net
Arch will not hold your hand

Re: Display terminal on desktop (kdemod4)

I think there's an option in Konsole to do it, I see a lot of people referring to "the embedded Konsole".

Also found this: http://bonkel.wordpress.com/2008/06/03/ … in-plasma/

Another thing, would Yakuake (http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=29153) be a good solution?
There's one bug with it right now in KDE 4.2: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=171544

Ran into another thing, too: 'kstart'. http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=419183
Maybe it can help. Check its man page.

EDIT: As above, urxvt is awesome.

Re: Display terminal on desktop (kdemod4)

Thanks mates, now I can try these out. F**** brilliant.
Everything is working with Archlinux like it did never before with any other distro so far. I'll report progression.
