Re: General Questions of Fresh Instalation and Format of HD···

Let me caution you against removing Ubuntu. From what I have read in this thread, you may have need of the internet while setting up arch. Having another comp with internet saved me. You can always delete Ubuntu later and resize the partition to make the arch install larger.

Re: General Questions of Fresh Instalation and Format of HD···

I have a router, Windows Vista, and a laptop, firstly I want to get rid of the problem with the grub loading instead of loading the LiveCD. As I said sometimes, I'm practicing with VirtualBox, I just love this program! It's kinda hard, but I can manage myself by now, the worst thing is fearing what could happen!

Re: General Questions of Fresh Instalation and Format of HD···

From http://dev.archlinux.org/~aaron/archiso/

For those who have problems with grub not loading, we offer the following
ISOs with the isolinux bootloader:

  archlinux-200X.yy-isolinux-ftp-i686.iso         i686/32bit CD-ISO
  archlinux-200X.yy-isolinux-ftp-x86_64.iso       x86_64/64bit CD-ISO

The ISOs on that page are still in beta stage, but I've read that the final ones will be released soon (maybe tomorrow). Good luck wink

Thanks for the help, you all. I've made my mind, I won't install Arch until the 2009 install version comes, for now I'll play around in the virtual box smile
