I prefer a dark color scheme (currently using "Obsidian Coast [Sunset]"), but OpenOffice "does it's own thing," with an ugly light blue/grey. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Seems that this project died. is there another way to change color scheme on KDE (beside doing it manually in Tools->Options->Appearance)?

"... being a Linux user is sort of like living in a house inhabited by a large family of carpenters and architects. Every morning when you wake up, the house is a little different. Maybe there is a new turret, or some walls have moved. Or perhaps someone has temporarily removed the floor under your bed."

Try putting 'export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=kde' or even 'export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome' in your .profile or something, and logging out / in (echo $OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP should return kde or gnome depending on what you used).
I don't know what the former does (hoping it makes OpenOffice use the Qt toolkit), but I know the latter makes it use the GTK toolkit, which you can then set or use a package to make like the Qt one (KDE is Qt), or whatever.
