set framebuffer for cvlc and mplayer

Hello. I have tried to set the framebuffer so I can play movies in shell. When using uvesafb it works great but I cannot resume after suspend so I did remove v86d from the hooks array and now I cannot play the movies but the computer resumes fine. Is there another way to do it? I'm on an Acer one.
