I know Compiz doesn't work on my PC because of my SiS card (I'm going to put in nVidia shortly when my dad gets home)...but I'm curious. Has anyone ever used Compiz with E17? If so, how good is it?
For every problem, there is a solution that is:
Clean
Simple and most of all...wrong!

The last time that I heard about this, there was only a project called ecomorph. Both E17 and Compiz are window managers, so it was kind of a blend of the two. It was or is still in AUR, but the changes in E17 weren't kept up with.

Woah. Looks like ecomorph includes a compositor for any WM, ecomp. Now that's something I have to try out, and see if it beats xcomposite.

You can actually just run xcompmgr, or use the Bling module(which, afaik, is based off xcompmgr), but Compiz-Fusion...not sure.

Yeah, Bling is using a modified version of xcompmgr. It works pretty well for basic compositing. I don't use transparency and such, so I don't know how stable it is these days.

It is E17 specific, as it is actually its own WM right now (E17 in GIT is patched with the ecomorph patches). I am the maintainer of the ecomorph package, btw. It is broken right now in GIT, so it won't do much good installing it.
